We have a few new events and a few returning after a break.
A few notes:
Hurricane Classic, 16 November: This is a training/coaching regatta. Day one will consist of four races and some on-the-water coaching. Day 2 will be a training session (9.30am to 12.30am) with on-the-water coaching from Colt. It's a great opportunity to do some heavy air practice!
Nationals – QCYC 6-8 Feb
This is going to be a fantastic regatta! There will be an invitational race on the Wednesday afternoon followed by 3 days of racing, finishing on the Saturday afternoon, giving you the Sunday to travel home.
Anyone who has done a regatta there will know they have some of the best hospitality in the country. Breakfast and dinner will be available at the club everyday. Campervan parking on site is OK and the Top10 holiday park is within walking distance of the club.
Friday night will see the ‘Super 6 Sprints’ in front of the club, 3 x 1 lap races.
$100, $75, $50 bar tabs for 1st,2nd,3rd (the 6 boats will be pulled out of the hat)
NZOKDA is working on a 40ft container from Waketere to QCYC – more details to follow soon
We would hope that every boat intending to do the worlds in Garda will attend the nationals. This regatta will be the biggest NZOKDA regatta of the year and we need to do as much big fleet racing as possible.
River & Sea Classic - New Plymouth/Waitara
This will be a really fun event, with racing one day at New Plymouth and one day at Waitara. More details to follow in the coming months. If goes without saying the hospitality will be next level.
